A report of a workshop held by the Canadian Commission in August, 2002 which included youth leaders, civic politicians, government officials, academics, youth, NGO's and community youth workers.
The workshop introduced the Growing Up In Cities model of youth focussed on participatory research and explored opportunities to expand, adapt and sustain child and youth participation in Canada.
The goal of the discussion was to identify the next steps for involving young people in community evaluation, planning and action. [PDF 300 KB]

In May 2002, UNESCO distributed a questionnaire to solicit comments and proposals from Member States on the priorities and issues that should guide the preparation of the Draft Programme and Budget for 2004-2005 (32 C/5).
This document represents the response of Canada to the questionnaire. It reflects the views of federal and provincial governments and non-governmental members of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO, and of other experts in the fields of education, the natural, social and human sciences, culture, communication and information.
